Metarhizium Anisopliae is a Green muscardine fungus and is mainly used to control Beetles, Grubs, Ticks, Weevils, Files, Borers, Gnats, Thrips, Locusts, Grasshoppers and Some varieties of Mosquitoes.
Mode of Action:
Host adhesion & germination > Epicuticle degradation > Growth of blastospore > Killing the pathogen by various fungal toxins (insecticidal metabolites) > Development of immunity and defence mechanism to survive in the host pathogen > Hyphal extrusion and conidiation (at this stage, white hyphae and olive-green conidial spores are seen on the host pathogen).
